Is Locking Out the Muscle Good or Bad

Over the years many of my personal training clients have asked me is locking out the muscle good or bad for the muscle or for the joint. Well the answer to that question is locking out the muscle is both good and bad. However there is a safe and unsafe way to lock out the muscle to enhance the pump and minimize the stress on the working joint.

Turn Fat Into Muscle

Can you turn fat into muscle? The answer to this question is a definitive no when considering it from a physiological standpoint. Fat and muscle are made up of two different materials and this is basically why you cannot turn fat into muscle. However, don’t despair because you can do something to your body which would seem on the outside like you have turned fat into muscle.

Why Fad Diets Dont Work

The main reason why fad diets don’t work is simply because fad diets are unhealthy and don’t supply you with enough of the nutritional requirements you need from numerous food sources. Some people can stick to a diet if it is the right type of diet for them if it still allows them to eat a good mixture of high quality protein from meat, chicken, fish or eggs, an adequate amount of complex carbohydrates like rice, pasta or cereals and a little bit of fat. You simply cannot live in a healthy way without at least a little bit of fat in your diet.

The Abdominal Training Myth

Without a doubt the idea of training your abdominal muscles to lose fat around your stomach area or midsection is the biggest myth in fitness training. As a personal trainer I see overweight people in the gym everyday training their abdominals for set after set and they wonder why they never look any leaner around the belly. On too many occasions to count I have told people that they will never lose weight around their middle by performing sets of ab exercises like crunches, sit ups, leg raises and so many others but often they seem to know best and continue in vain with their constant abdominal training.
