The first ingredient regarding how to get a big chest is to get your training to a consistent level. The chest muscles are a one of your bigger bodyparts and they need to be trained hard and trained with consistency. Everyone who gets involved in bodybuilding and weight training wants to know how to get a big chest and you can build a big chest to if you put in the work that is required. Building a big chest takes time but as long as you don’t miss your scheduled workouts your will get there.
Your chest muscles respond well to heavy training in the same way your legs need a lot of heavy training to grow. When contemplating how to get a big chest you need to stick to the basic heavy chest movements. Although there have been a lot of advancements in weight training equipment over the last 10 years there really is nothing more effective than the original movements performed by bodybuilders and weight lifters for almost 100 years. The following is a list of the most common and effective chest exercises to get a big chest.
If you want to know how to get a big chest the first exercise you want to get familiar with is the dumbbell bench press. This is in my opinion the most effective of all chest exercises and used at the highest level of professional bodybuilding. You can perform this chest exercise on either a flat or incline bench. By pressing the dumbbells while laying on a flat bench you will specifically target your lower chest region. You will target your upper chest while performing dumbbell presses on the incline bench. This is the ultimate of all chest exercises.
Probably the most popular of all chest exercises and the second most effective of all chest exercises is the barbell bench press. If you are pondering the idea of how to get a big chest, this is one of the essential ways to build a big chest. This chest exercise can be performed with either a straight barbell on a flat bench press or on the smith machine for extra safety if you don’t have a spotter and are training heavy.
Another of the super effective chest exercises is the bodyweight dips. Bodyweight dips are performed on the dip bar with your legs straight and ideally facing forward and your chin on your chest. You perform the movement by pushing your bodyweight up and down in this position. Some people perform this exercise with their legs bent up behind them and their head facing up but doing the dip movement this way tends to target your triceps more than your chest.
Dumbbell pullovers are another great chest exercise that will help you reach your goal in regards to how to get a big chest. The dumbbell pullover is ideally performed lying sideways or perpendicular on a flat bench. Hold the dumbbell with both hands on the inner flat surface of one end of the dumbbell then lower the dumbbell from the start position in front of your face down behind your head really stretching out your chest and back muscles. Then bring the dumbbell back up in front of your face. This is an awesome chest exercise and a great chest expander to give your ribcage and chest that full size look.
There are many other chest exercises that will help you get a big chest but the exercises I have mentioned are the best chest exercises to help you build a massive and well shaped chest. These exercises can be performed in any gym and you don’t need any high tech or fancy equipment to perform them. By sticking to the basic chest exercises you will not only build a big chest, you will do it in the shortest possible time if you are consistent and dedicated to your training.
